Maxim Kaplevich
Maxim Kaplevich is a serial tech entrepreneur and the Co-Founder and CEO of Sparklo, a UAE-born cleantech company reinventing how the world recycles. He is a recognised voice on technology-driven circularity in the Middle East. Forbes named him a 30 Under 30 honouree twice — in 2021 and across the Middle East in 2023 — and the World Economic Forum recognised him as a Global Shaper.
Under his leadership, Sparklo has grown into one of MENA’s leading cleantech companies. Its AI-driven reverse vending machines, known as Sparklomats, collect plastic bottles and aluminium cans through an app-based reward system designed to turn one-off recycling into a lasting habit.
Since launching in 2022, Sparklo has formed strategic partnerships with organisations including Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi, Dubai Municipality, ADNOC Distribution, Coca-Cola and Carrefour. Its technology now operates across 12 countries through more than 700 machines, serving one million users and collecting over 250 million bottles and cans.
Sparklo holds the MAJRA Impact Seal at Platinum level for 2025–2027 and was recognised at the Gulf Sustainability Awards 2025 for Best Sustainable Product. Its mission is to address the global problem of single-use packaging by making recycling accessible, rewarding and part of everyday life.
